COOLING – PRIME Z790-P-CSM motherboard is engineered with multiple onboard heatsinks and an array of hybrid fan headers to ensure your rig stays cool and stable under intense workloads.

M.2 Heatsinks – An M.2 heatsink takes care of the two M.2 slots, warding off throttling that can occur with M.2 storage during sustained transfers. Removable captive screws reduce risk of drops or loss during heatsink removal.

VRM Heatsinks and Thermal Pads – The extensive surface area of the massive heatsinks cover the VRMs and chokes to improve heat dissipation. Together with specially engineered thermal pads, they improve heat transfer from the MOSFETs and chokes for better cooling performance.

1. ProCool Connectors: Proprietary connectors augment the motherboard’s link to the PSU with 4 + 8 pin connectors that pass 12 volts of power directly to the processors. Each jack features solid pins that can handle more current than hollow-pin connectors.
2. 14 + 1 Teamed Power Stages: 14 + 1 power stages combine high-side and low-side MOSFETS and drivers into packages rated for 50 amperes each, delivering power, efficiency, stability and performance to latest Intel processors.

AEMP II for Ultimate DDR5 Performance – ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile II (AEMP II) is an exclusive firmware feature for PMIC-restricted memory modules. AEMP II is based on a CPU and memory module’s ability to train the memory chips on your kit, and it presents an optimized clock speed that can effortlessly unleash performance.

Built through a flexible training method, AEMP II makes it easy to not only tune the memory above baseline settings but also maintain the stability of system operation, whether getting the most out of an entry-level module or priming a high-speed kit for ultimate performance.

Three M.2 Slots (up to 64 Gbps) – PRIME Z790-P-CSM offers a total of three M.2 slots that support data-transfer speeds of up to 64 Gbps via PCIe 4.0, enabling quicker boot-up and app load times with OS or application drives.

PCIe 5.0 Slot – PCIe 5.0 offers twice the data transfer speed of PCIe 4.0, making it robust enough to handle new data-heavy tasks. PCIe 5.0 also brings other benefits, such as electrical changes to improve signal integrity, backward-compatible CEM connectors for add-in cards, and compatibility with previous versions of PCI Express.

Thunderbolt 4 (USB4 compliant) – PRIME Z790-P-CSM motherboard features USB4 support via a Thunderbolt (USB4) header. With an ASUS add-on card*, PRIME motherboards can enable bi-directional speeds of up to 40 Gbps on a single cable, while providing power to fast-charge device. Additionally, this card has a daisy-chain function for multi-screen connection and supports up to dual displays with 4K resolution.

SafeSlot Core+ – PCIe 5.0 is 2x faster than PCIe 4.0, so we adapted our SMT manufacturing process for the faster SafeSlot Core+, to ensure the highest data speeds. SafeSlot Core+ is a reinforced metal sheath added to a PCIe slot to keep a card firmly installed.
